Specialty Built Construction. A Unique Custom Homebuilder

Dedicated to Judy Tuley

Specialty Built Construction dedicates our website to Judy Tuley. Please enjoy sharing the "Richness in Life" all of us (in the SBC family and beyond) received from being a part of Judy and Port Tuley' lives. Let your hearts donate to the Cure for Cancer to help find the cure at Gateway for Cancer Research.

During my conversations with Port after Judy had passed to the other side of the Mountain, I asked how I personally could help? Was there a particular foundation to which I could donate? Port said that just a week before her passing, Judy and he had we talking and wondered whether there was a foundation where virtually all the monies secured would go directly towards research for a cure. After several long nights of searching, studying and reviewing, I found a very interesting foundation website that meets that criteria: www.gatewayforcancerresearch.org. I found that $.99 of each $1.00 donated goes directly to research. They also publish their financial statements for review. Please visit the Gateway site. It is very easy to click onto the "Donation page"(and all other pages) and give what you can. Or you may already have your own favorite foundation. So, gather your friends and send them to www.specialtybuilt.com to read the dedication to Judy Tuley to motivate them to dig into those deep pockets we have when want to give, and give to their choice of foundation. The point - join the effort to find a cure - maybe in our lifetime! Give what you can. HELP GIVE LIFE.

Judy's Story for SBC began in the year 2000. Much of the success of Specialty Built Construction can be linked to the "openness" of Judy and Port Tuley. I learned what it really means to "Pay It Forward" from a life long friendship developed not-so-far-back in 2000 from building an incredible home to the real spiritual relationship. The home building was just the beginning of the "richness" I did not know at the time that changed my life and many around me because of this very special and unique relationship. The full intent of their home during the design phase was to create a place for all to gather. To make it accessible for those who were or could possibly become physically challenged. To be home for family to stay as long as they wanted for enjoyment or for caring needs.

SBC has enjoyed the rewards and relationship way beyond the day-to-day.living thanks to the Tuley family. The "richness" of the relationship was not a financial one, although we had the opportunity to build their home - it was much, much more than that. I now know and need to "Pay it Forward." Cancer has no feelings or conscious. There is so much we can change daily with just a simple thought. Cancer needs more attention than just a thought. It changes us in ways we can't describe. It has not been supported enough. Much of the money that is donated for a cure is from those families and friends who have been directly affected.

"You do not want to go through the experience." I know this personally from my family experience of seeing my Dad pass on due to cancer; my wife's experience with a breast cancer scare; Joannie Hurst's (a most recent client of SBC) experience a breast cancer scare; to my current client, both husband and wife fighting their personal battles. Just by putting this Dedication into words, my gut is just turned inside out. It is so close to home to all of us. Don't look the other way. Join us and participate in the battle for victory over cancer.

The Tuley family experienced a major change in life in which they were able to live in a far different financial capability. Never once did this capability change they way the Tuleys lived or change the way they were personally and spiritually. It only helped them share the way they lived by "Paying it Forward" for so many more. Never once did Judy put herself first. Judy would always ask "How are you doing, how is your family and ask by name how each one of my kids is doing." Judy was always there for whatever would be needed if ever requested. Judy would never ask for anything back. It was just a normal part of Judy's modus operandi - to care for all of her personal family and adopted family. If you were lucky enough to meet and get to know both Judy and Port, you virtually became immediate adopted family. The "magnetism" was incredible. I was touched personally and spiritually, they opened themselves to me unselfishly.

Judy's strength was shown first from her battle with Hepatitis "C", and win that battle to be called a "Survivor", then to the super human positive attitude towards her challenge with cancer. Judy had one rule only, well maybe two: "Only think and say positive things that can make you happy and laugh," and number two: "There is always time for a hug and say I love you." I don't ever remember Judy not saying those words and giving my wife and me that hug before we would leave. Let me say as well that Port was right there for the "Big Bubba Hug," too. These experiences have really opened my eyes. There is not a day that goes by in which my thoughts are not of Judy and all those I know or have known or who have traveled similar paths.

In addition to Judy's request for donating to a research foundation, Specialty Built Construction has a Dream. This Dream is dedicated to Judy Tuley and all others everywhere that have had an experience or currently going through the battle with cancer, and to those that have shared their life for us to learn about life and find the cure.

My company's dream is to find and acquire a large parcel of land in a very special place with views of natures life all around and to build a Timber Frame Hospice for those who need to enjoy life at a most important time, to live without pain and lack of quality, to join others in the tranquility they deserve before crossing over to the next part of their journey. Timber Frame is a style of building that is more that just a structure. I know it is conducive to internal peace, longevity in life, and opens minds and hearts to a new way of life. If you have been in or lived in a true Timber Frame home, you know what I mean. SBC can build it, but we need your help to do it.

In order for this dream to become a reality, this Hospice foundation needs those of you who have the experience and resources I do not (we need numerous resources financially, donated land preservation areas to build, and the special people with contacts for financial support-grants-research, real estate, legal, medical, and business corporation support).

SBC's vision is to have the most current environmentally friendly built facility, supported with warmth, and energy efficient, Green eco-friendly systems, Timber Frame structure. It would be fully medically supported with "State of the Art" care and medicines for at least 50 special rooms and numerous open areas with views for all the very special residents to enjoy their time with family and friends. I know it can happen. Why? Because we all have had dreams that then become true by our willingness to succeed. Without dreams what is there? Is this the one dream we all want to make sure comes true? I know there are other programs around the United States. But there are NOT ENOUGH. Let's put one in Washington State. Together, we are a very special people in this state. Join in "Paying it Forward" with SBC. Show us where to go, who to speak to, find the resources. SBC's time and ability to build the Timber Frame Hospice and those who work with SBC want to give back, share our trades, and talents. We just want others to feel the joy, happiness, and "richness" in life's final days journey.
